About the artwork collection

This series is a direct result of my experience after having passed through a life threatening illness in that I was propelled to contemplate some of life’s difficult truths. The experience manifested in me a new vision and sense of gratitude. As I gradually shed burdensome thoughts, I began to experience a lightness of spirit. Images of birds, feathers and other floating symbols became part of the visual stories that I was painting. In order to best express my feelings I chose to use the media of cold and hot wax (encaustic).
As the moon waxes and grows into its wholeness, so do the pieces in this series represent my continued path of inner growth.
